Wild West Round Up - World for Learning

Wild West Round Up

For this month’s Poppins Book Nook theme, I thought it would be fun to share a round up of several fun and educational Wild West themed books!

Wild West Round Up - World for Learning The “You Wouldn’t Want to Live …” series is a favorite in our home, as it includes humor and fun facts with educational tidbits. You Wouldn’t Want to Live in a Wild West Town by Peter Hicks is sure to be a fun Wild West adventure favorite!
This is a fun, hands-on approach to learning all about the great Wild West. Wild West Days: Discover the Past with Fun Projects, Games, Activities and Recipes by David C. King is chock full of ideas, crafts, games, recipes and more to help bring the Wild West to life. Wild West Round Up - World for Learning
Wild West Round Up - World for Learning Westward Ho!: An Activity Guide to the Wild West by Laurie Carlson is yet another fun, hands-on way to explore the Wild West. We personally own several of Laurie Carlson’s activity books and love how her activities help bring learning to life.
My twins are huge Magic Tree House fans, so I love when they have a book in the series that ties in with our studies. Magic Tree House #10: Ghost Town at Sundown by Mary Pope Osborne is sure to be a hit with your young chapter book reader! Wild West Round Up - World for Learning
Wild West Round Up - World for Learning Cowboys and Cowgirls: YippeeYay! by Gail Gibbons is perfect for younger Wild West explorers.
Cowboys (Reading Railroad) by Lucille Recht Penner is a another great peek into the life of a cowboy during Wild West times, perfect for an early elementary read-aloud. Wild West Round Up - World for Learning
Wild West Round Up - World for Learning Children of the Wild West by Russell Freedman includes amazing actual photography from Wild West days and recounts Wild West life from a child’s perspective.

I am the proud mama to 3 incredible boys. Our family began our homeschooling journey in 2006 when my oldest was in 2nd grade and the twins were barely 6 months old. I’m passionate about researching resources and activities that allow my children to use all of their senses and learning styles.
